Reasons Why Your Eyelashes Are Falling Out
1. Sleeping With Eye Makeup On, Especially Mascara
Makeup blocks your pores as well as hair follicle and oil glands, this is not good at all. Blocking hair follicles and oil glands lead to acne-causing bacteria which slow down the growth of your eyelashes and it starts thinning and eventually falls.
2. Expired Beauty Products
There is a previously determined expiry date on every product, you should not use those products when it gets expired. Using expired products can cause inflammations, irritations, bumps, acne on your eyelids.
If any of your product is expired, stop using it!
3. Allergic Reaction To Eye Makeup Product
Any kind of irritation while or after using the product means you are allergic to that particular product. Stop immediately and consult with your doctor. It is a good practice to take a patch test before applying any product.
4. Eyelash Extensions
Extensions do not harm your eyelashes if you apply it properly. Do not pull your extensions harshly while removing it, you might accidentally pull your own eyelashes with the extension.
So be careful while removing the extensions.
5. Rubbing Eyes Frequently
Rubbing eyes harshly can break your eyelashes. If you feel any kind of itching and irritation in your eyes, wash your eyes with water and give a light gentle rub. Rubbing your eyes not only affects your eyelashes but it may also affect your eyesight.
It also causes dark circles as well as wrinkles near your eyes.
6. Unhealthy Lifestyle

Your beauty totally depends on your lifestyle.
7. Incorrect Use Of Eyelash Curlers
Using eyelashes curler after applying mascara, could harm your eyelashes. Mascara makes your lashes hard and then if you curl your eyelashes, it may break.
Some less common causes of falling eyelashes
Stress can have a negative impact on your eyelashes. Stress may cause you to develop trichotillomania which is a type of disorder in which people have an urge to pull their eyelashes.
Consult with your doctor if you are suffering from trichotillomania.
You may end up having no eyelashes. Haha just kidding!

Some medications that are used to treat diseases cause hair and lashes to fall out. Drugs that are used in chemotherapy may cause lashes to fall out. So if you are on some medication, consult your doctor.
As we age our collagen production decreases. During menopause, our body produces fewer estrogen hormones which then reduces the production of collagen. When the levels of estrogen decrease, eyelashes get thinner and lighter and the follicle may not be able to produce new lashes like before.
Just like hair, eyelashes also have four stages of growth i.e. growth stage, resting stage, shredding and regrowth stage. Ageing can slow down the growth phase of eyelashes and the follicle may not be able to produce new lashes.
Now you know the reason why eyelashes are falling, let’s us check how to regrow it naturally.
